Good morning, Enso community 🌬️☀️

I was just outside on my deck for a few minutes of yoga, and I had to share—it’s really not too cold today, and it is such a beautiful winter morning. December 28 has that rare Seattle magic: crisp, clear air, bright light, and a stillness that feels quietly energizing.

As a reminder from our seasonal, elemental yoga program, this deep winter moment belongs to the Water element—a time for conserving energy, calming the nervous system, and cultivating clarity. Stepping outside briefly, even in the cold, can be deeply supportive when we keep the practice simple and grounded.

If you’re able, try a short standing yoga practice outdoors today. Feel your feet connect to the ground. Stand in Mountain Pose with hands resting over the kidneys or low belly. Take slow, steady breaths, especially longer exhales. Add gentle movement—supported Chair, easy side bends, or a relaxed Warrior stance—to invite warmth and circulation without overdoing it.

This isn’t a season for pushing. Winter asks for presence over intensity. Let the cool air wake up your senses. Let the light remind you that even in the quietest part of the year, there is movement and life.

Think of this as standing meditation: rooted, alert, calm. Five or ten minutes is more than enough. When you come back inside, notice how grounded and clear you feel.

If you’re looking for a sign to step outside today—this is it. Bundle up, move slowly, and enjoy this beautiful winter day.
