February Archery
Hi Enso Archers,
We’re now in the second month of our hiatus, and I want to check in with you as we look forward to reuniting soon.
Here are some ways to keep yourself motivated during this final month of our break.
Fine-Tune Your Mental Game
Archery isn’t just physical—it’s a mental challenge as well. Use this time to practice mindfulness and visualization techniques. Picture yourself at the range: nocking an arrow, drawing smoothly, aiming, and releasing with precision. Spend a few minutes each day visualizing perfect shots to strengthen your focus and build confidence.
Stay Physically Active
Even though we’re not practicing together, you can still prepare for archery with exercises like:
Wall Push-Ups: Build upper body strength to support your draw.
Single-Leg Balances: Practice standing on one leg for 30 seconds at a time to improve your balance and stability.
Torso Twists: Improve rotational mobility for proper alignment during the draw.
Back Extensions: Lie on your stomach and lift your chest slightly off the ground to strengthen your lower back.
These simple movements can help get you ready for the range.

Review Your Gear
If you haven’t already, take some time this month to go through your equipment, if you have your own, and ensure everything is in top condition:
Bow Maintenance: Check your bowstring for signs of wear and apply wax if needed.
Arrow Inspection: Look for cracks or bent shafts and replace damaged arrows.
Accessory Organization: Make sure your quiver, arm guard, and other tools are clean and ready to go.
When the hiatus ends, you’ll be grateful to have everything in perfect working order.
The Enso Center instructors are continuing their maintenance of the loaner equipment and range in preparation to resume classes.
Countdown to the Range
Our time away from the range is almost over, and we can’t wait to see you all again. Use these last few weeks to reflect, prepare, and stay disciplined. The work you put in now—whether physical, mental, technical, or organizational—will set you up for success when we’re back together.
Hang in there, and remember: every effort counts. Let’s start strong when the hiatus ends and aim for a fantastic year in archery!
See you soon!
