NEW Seasonally Inspired Elemental Yoga Program
Align with Nature & Build Strength
Welcome to our new seasonally-inspired yoga series, with dynamic practices inspired by Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) principles. Each month, our practice will evolve to align with the changing seasons while we balance our energy and strengthen both body and mind.
What to Expect in each Class:
Opening breathwork & intention setting based on the season’s energy
Classes begin with focused breathwork (pranayama) to center the mind and prepare the body and intention setting based on the seasonal theme (such as renewal in spring, grounding in autumn).
This mindful start allows us to tune into our body’s needs and cultivate awareness for the practice.
Vinyasa warm-up to awaken the body and activate circulation
Movement begins with gentle, flowing sequences to warm up the muscles and awaken circulation, using breath linked to movement to create a dynamic and meditative rhythm.
This warm-up prepares the body for deeper postures and enhances overall mobility.
Central focus section (Strength, Balance, or Cardio) to build stability, flexibility, or endurance
Targeted sequences that challenge and engage the body in alignment with the focus of the season.
Examples:
Strength Focus: Warrior sequences, plank variations, and core-engaging asanas to build power and resilience.
Balance Focus: Tree Pose, Eagle Pose, and single-leg transitions to enhance coordination and control.
Cardio Flow: Dynamic, fast-paced Vinyasa sequences with fluid transitions to elevate heart rate and improve stamina.
Hatha-style postures to refine technique and deepen connection
Slowing the flow slightly to move our focus to holding and refining key postures, with emphasis placed on alignment, breath control, and strength-building.
This section provides deeper engagement, allowing us to feel the pose and make adjustments.
Yin & restorative poses to release tension and integrate the practice
The cool-down phase shifts into even longer-held, passive stretches targeting the deep connective tissues and energy meridians, promoting flexibility and relaxation.
This is a time to slow our breathing and allow the nervous system to settle.
Closing breathwork & meditation for grounding, reflection, and inner peace
The final few minutes are a time to observe how your body feels, notice any shifts in energy, and carry your intention into the rest of your day. This is also a space for meditation on seasonal affirmations or deep gratitude.
